In love

Look at my little monkey, not even a whole 24 hours old:

Now look at her!

I can't believe how much she has grown in 8 weeks! Yes, today is her 8 week birthday! We will see her pediatrician tomorrow and I am so excited. I have a list of things I need to talk to her about (yes, I am that type of mother)!!!

I will have an update on her appt soon!

Go Away Hives

I have been diagnosed with HIVES!!! I broke out with them a week after Alli P. came into our lives and I decided it was just hormones causing them. Well after 2 weeks of agonizing pain (and spreading all over my body), I decided it was time to get them checked out. I went to urgent care today and found out that I didn't have a disease, just hives. I was put on antibiotics and hope they clear up soon. Since heat aggravates them, I have to stay out of direct sun exposure and heat, take cool showers, and wear loose clothing. So I told Lance that the doctor said no weed pulling for me, until it clears up!! Way to get out of that one.
It's been one of those weeks for me. Hives taking over the body and loosing my mind. Pregnancy made me very forgetful, but I have definitely lost it now. I sent Alli to daycare yesterday without any bottles, then I forgot to leave a check for the cleaning lady. But don't worry, she found me! You never know what you are going to get!!

Changes at the Hancocks

I knew my life was going to change when I had Alli, but I had NO idea just how much it would change. When people ask me how everything is and if it is what I thought it would be, I usually respond by saying it is the hardest thing I have ever done, yet the most rewarding! Alli has blessed my life so much more than I ever imagined. I am so glad God blessed me with a wonderful child like Alli. Every time things don't go the way I planned, I am reminded that it's not that bad, and I am still blessed to have a wonderful family.
Conversations around our house have also changed. They went from discussing dinner plans and such to talking about Alli's bowel movements (for those of you who don't know, we've had problems with them). When Lance and I had our first date I tried not to talk about the baby because I knew we needed our time. However, that's all we talked about and still talk about. I ask all the time what we used to talk about before we had Alli, and we have no idea!

I started back to work on Monday and to tell you the truth, I was dreading coming back to work more than dropping Alli off at daycare. I knew I would have a ton of stuff to catch up on, but to my surprise, I was caught up by noon on Tuesday. And it is nice to have grown up interaction. Oh wow, that's the first time I considered myself a grown up! Alli is going to Mrs. Dorothy's house for daycare (school),where Noah goes, and I have not once questioned whether she was capable of taking on the challenge. I trust her 110%, and so does Lance. She has been wonderful and tells me how Alli only cries when she is hungry!!
First day of "school"
Second day of "School"
Last weekend Lance and I had a date night and planned having Jana keep Alli all night. Lance didn't want Alli to stay anywhere but with us, but I told him unless he was getting up to feed her during the night, she was staying with cousin Noah. He quickly went along with the plans! So I called to check on Alli about 2 hours after we dropped her off and I learned she was doing well. She was falling in love with Uncle Chris and smiling a lot at him. So I left my phone in the car because I felt like everything was under control. Well Lance and I noticed we both had a msg from Jana asking us to call her ASAP! When I called Alli was crying hysterically! So we went ahead and picked her up to go home with us. When Alli cries it sounds like she can't breath, due to the tracheomalasia, and Jana did not like that! Jana said the whole time Alli cried, Noah mocked her!!! I think that is hilarious! She quickly realized she did not want another child yet! She told Dorothy what happened and had her kind of scared thinking Alli was going to act like that! Jana is a great mom, which I knew before, but even more know that I have a child.
Same goes for my mothers!

Update

It has been entirely too long since my last post. My little Alli is growing so fast. We went to the doctor today and she weighs 9 lbs!! Speaking of Doctor, we have been to the doctor 3 times in less than a week!! Last week we went for her 1 month check up and the doctor noticed how fast she was breathing, 95 breaths a minute!! So we went to get x-rays and make sure she didn't have rsv. After those came back fine, we were sent to the ENT doctor and found out she has trachiomalasia, which means she has a floppy esophagus and acid reflux. This is why she grunts so much, breaths hard, and sounds like a squeak to when she cries. So from now on I will call the doctor when I think something is wrong. So we left the doctors office and put Alli on Zantac for her acid reflux and when she is fed from a bottle, we were to put rice cereal in it (I only feed her with a bottle at night). Well it wasn't even a day and Alli was constipated. So Monday I called the doctor and was told to put a little prune juice in her morning bottle. We stayed with tink that night and didn't get any sleep. She grunted all night long and was breathing hard. Tinker finally realized why I am still so exhausted and have to take a nap everyday. Last night was yet another bad night for us, Lance usually sleeps through everything, but he wasn't able to sleep at all. Welcome to my world is what I wanted to say, but I decided I would be nice! Once I did get up this morning, Alli's eye was closed shut with green gunk. So we went to the doctor and found out that her tear duct does not drain correctly, like cousin Noah's. She also told us to get off rice cereal and just feed her breast milk because we don't want to make her more constipated. Also, instead of prune juice, we are doing pear juice. I sure hope this helps us have a better night. I go back to work in about a week, and I won't be able to make it with no sleep.
On the other hand we are thinking about seeing another doctor for a second opinion for her diagnosis. It would make me feel a little better!!

Here is the little chunker!
