The Worst Fishing Trip EVER

I've been wanting to go fishing for about a year now so Lance and I decided Sunday would be a good day to go. So Lance got the boat ready and I got Alli all packed up and we headed to Farmerville. We dropped Alli off at Gigi and Pops and headed to catch some fish, and spend some time together. Well on our way to the launch the ice chest flies out of the boat. That should have been our sign to head back to the house, but we decided to keep going. Once we got to the launch, Lance noticed it was a different one than he was used to but had faith that I could back the trailer up so he could get the boat in the water. Now, I have never pulled a trailer, much less backed one up. But what the heck, it can't be that hard, right? Well I backed him and up and after about 10 minutes pulled him back on the ramp because I couldn't do it. And did I mention there was a crowd watching the whole time!!! Lance made the comment that we were just going to head home, but I insisted we go fishing. So we tried it again and I was successful. Except for flooding my vehicle!! Yes, I drive a 4runner and that's what we were pulling the boat with. I had to back far into the water to get Lance out there. I thought he was watching to make sure the water didn't get too high, but I have no idea why I thought that. I yelled that the car was filling up with water and I put the 4runner in gear and sped away. I opened the driver side door and water pored out of the vehicle. It was quite a show for the spectators!! So by this time we decided we would fish since we had the boat in the water. So Lance caught one fish and I was getting aggravated because I hadn't had a bit. If you didn't know, I get very competitive in situations like this. Right before we decided to leave Lance asked why my fishing pole was going in the water, and I replied "I got a fish"!!! And it was a big one!! So Lance took my pole so I could get the net, and then he broke the news to me, I was just hung on a log!! I don't know why this disappointed me, because every time I go fishing, I get hung up and Lance has to fix it! So while he was doing that the current drifted us into 2 huge trees. Now I don't know about you but when I think of trees in a lake, snakes, bugs, and other critters comes to mind and I don't like it. So I freaked. Lance leaped into the drivers seat to get us out of there and somewhere in the leap, he lost his shoe. I noticed it floating in the water when he sat down!!! After getting unstuck, we went to look for the long lost shoe, but we had no luck, so we finally decided it was time to leave!! When we got to the launch Lance went to the car to back it down. I made him take off his one shoe and walk in his socks. I would have been so embarrassed if people saw him with only one shoe!! I did a much better job loading the boat and we were out of there. So after all that we had a soaking wet car (only on the drivers side), the back window would not roll down, the back door wouldn't open, smoke was coming out of the tail pipe, and worst of all, I didn't have my camera to document the day!!

We decided only to pond fish from now on!!

Here are some recent pictures though!

Alli's Newborn Photos

Long story short, Jana hooked us up with newborn photos for Alli. She was 2 weeks and 1 day in these photos. Lets just say that there is a big chance she is going to be like her daddy because she did not like posing for the pictures and pitched a fit. However, Crystal was able to get some good ones.

I hope you enjoy.

We love her!

Mommy's little princess!

Noah loves his little cousin!

I love this picture!

Pops and Alli watching tv.

Some say we look alike!
Boo Boo finally held Alli. Jordan was so nervous, I don't think she took a breath the whole time she was holding her.

He loves me!

We had such a great weekend at Gigi and Pops. I got a whole nights rest thanks to Aunt Jana and Gigi getting up with Alli. I was totally exhausted, but didn't realize it until this past weekend. Alli is doing great and is such a great baby. She is now getting up every 4 hours during the night to eat, so I love that extra hour of sleep. She gets up between 1 and 2 and then again around 6 so we can't complain at all. The wonderful pictures were taken at Gigi's house by sweet Aunt Jana. She took over 700 pictures during our visit!! She does such a great job, I don't even take my camera when I know she is going to be with me.
As you can see in the pictures, Alli loves to sleep. We are trying to do Babywise where we keep her up after each feeding and then put her down for a nap (during the day) and then at night time go straight to bed after each feeding. She knows to go back to sleep at night, but during the day we don't stay awake after every feeding. We are working on it though. Our favorite time together is after the 1:30 feeding because we both lay down for our afternoon nap. That's usually the time Daddy calls to check on us.
We hope to get out of the house tomorrow for a trip to Shreveport with Daddy, but we don't know if we are definitely going to do so. Then we are going back to Gigi's so Pop can take me fishing and Gigi can babysit! I hope to then go shopping to get some clothes while I am in this weird size!!

Little Alli

We went to the Doctor's office yesterday to see how Alli's jaundice looked and we were happy to hear that it was at a 9.8 so we are in a good zone and will not have to get tested for that ever again!! YAY!! Also, as of yesterday, Alli weighs 7lbs and 4 oz! She was back to her birth weight of 6lbs, 13 oz at one week of age and the Pediatrician was happy to see that. She said they want babies to be back at their birth weight by their 2 week birthday so we are a week ahead! Which I am so glad to hear because I worried she wasn't getting enough to eat.
We gave Alli her first bath this week and she wasn't too happy, but we made it. We have since given her two more baths (one was not planned, but she had an accident) and she seems to really like them now. I think she is going to be like her cousin Noah and love baths.
Lance went back to work and things have been crazy for me. I never realized how hard it would be to take a bath or get around town without Lance being here. It was quite an adjustment!
That is pretty much all that has been going on around our neck of the woods!

Alli enjoys her tummy time!

Have a great day!

This is how my child lays in her swing! She loves the outfit Muffy!
